“Knowing in Part” is a short story focusing on a young man named Dawson who was assistant pastor at his Southern Baptist church, but is having a crisis of faith and has not talked to anyone in his church for a number of weeks. Despite his attempts, his is unable to fully reconcile his doubts nor is he able to avoid having tough conversations with the people in his life. “Knowing in Part” was awarded the “English Department Award for Creative Writing” in 2020 and was published at EKU’s literary magazine Aurora in 2020.
