In 2025, the Kentucky Rural-Urban Exchange published a booklet of case studies, featuring profiles and interviews with RUX alumni about their experience in the program and how it has impacted their relationship with Kentucky, their neighbors, and the career.

Below I have an excerpt from the booklet featuring the Case Study on me. I talk about the tension of feeling called to Kentucky while also wanting to leave, how growing up in a rural area influences my urban adulthood, and how RUX helped me clarify my relationship with the Commonwealth.
